I wanted all the heroines for my Debutant Dares series to be geniuses in some ways, so I started reading up on different kinds of genius. I settled first on the idea of photographic memory, and what I discovered researching this truly surprised me--photographic memory has not actually been proven to exist! The closest we can prove is something called eidetic memory or eidetic images.

At the end of the day, I decided that with so much inconclusive science, I could … do what I want. :) Always a happy time when that happens. So the heroine of Daring the Duke--Tabitha--is a mixture of various memory tricks.
